Book Drunkard

“I am simply a 'book drunkard.' Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.” L.M. Montgomery

Wowowow!  What a week!  I got some amazing books in the mail and feel totally blessed.Fullscreen capture 10232009 43318 PM

From BookMooch: The Venetian Mask by Rosalind Laker and Falling Angels by Tracy Chevalier.

From Authors for Review: The Manufactured Identity by Heath Sommer, The Rose of York: Fall from Grace by Sandra Worth, The Brightest Star in the Sky by Marian Keyes, and O, Juliet by Robin Maxwell.

Books I Bought: The Lambs of London by Peter Ackroyd, Behind a Mask by Louisa May Alcott (the book contains 4 short stories), Runaway by VC Andrews and Crystal by VC Andrews. (I’m considering starting up a VC Andrews reading challenge so I’m starting to stock up)  I got all the above books from a used book store and a thrift store for 3$ for all!!

Also in my mailbox this week, that I do not want to neglect to mention, was a lovely note from Michelle Moran.  Included was an ancient Roman coin!  I love anything old so this is a real treasure to me 🙂  Thanks Michelle!

  1. I’ll be interested in hearing how you like Lambs of London–I read that a couple of years ago primarily because I like Peter Ackroyd’s books, and it didn’t disappoint.

I’ve had Behind a Mask on the shelf for years and have never gotten around to it. I never read Little Women but wanted to read something by Alcott. Maybe this year!

I’ll be interested to hear how you like them both.

  2. Great books! Is that Marian Keyes new novel? I haven’t heard of that one before.

I have so much VC Andrews love. Flowers in the Attic is going to be my read for your 4 mth challenge but I know I will end up reading the whole series.

  3. I recently got The Venetian Mask and am just now starting another book by Rosalind Laker – The Golden Tulip. What a great haul.
