Book Drunkard

“I am simply a 'book drunkard.' Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.” L.M. Montgomery

Dewey’s Read-a-thon – 5:00am

Myra AndersonThere are only a few things that would wake me up at the crack of dawn and Read-a-thon is one of them.  (Hockey is the other.  Oh, and kids.  Having two of them, I’ve been up at 5am a ton of times!)

I’m excited to get started.  The coffee is ready, I have a comfy, quiet and great smelling spot to read (Scentsy!).  I also have company again this year – my youngest daughter.  Both my girls have participated in the past.  My oldest is away camping and won’t be joining in.  My youngest, she just turned 12, is completely gung-ho.  She just started a blog and her first post is about the read-a-thon!  You can see her updates HERE.

It was tough to pick which book to read first.  I have so many options!  I decided to go with something easy by an author I’ve loved in the past – Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Jill Mansell.  Nothing like a bit of Brit Chick Lit to get my day started.

And, so I’m off to get lost in a book.  I’m excited to be part of such a wonderfully organized event once again.  Good luck to everyone who is reading today!  Have fun 🙂

  1. I’m informally participating today. Fiancé is working all day, I’m feeling lazy, and have a rreview due Tuesday! Read on and good luck to both of you!
