Book Drunkard

“I am simply a 'book drunkard.' Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.” L.M. Montgomery

Day 3 – Book Drunkard Week Long Read-a-Thon

KAY CRAIN-002Day 3 and I’m all geared up for more reading.  I sort of got sucked into a movie this morning (Moneyball – love me some Brad Pitt) and I will be tutoring my nephew in English later, but I think I will still get a lot of reading done.  I’m loving THE PAINTED GIRLS.  I urge you to check it out and buy it.  It’s one of the best books I’ve read so far this year.

If I can finish the book tomorrow – that’s my goal – I will start IN BED WITH THE TUDORS by Amy Licence.  It looks really great and is right up my alley!

Looking forward to your updates!

  1. Yesterday was a bit slow for me – even though it was my day off, I had a couple of errands to run and it was just… SLOW. Maybe because I’m reading non-fiction alongside fiction, I suppose – you can hardly rush it! I started ‘Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares’ for a little festive fun, and finally picked up ‘Desperate Romantics’ by Franny Moyle, about the Pre-Raphaelites. So far so good!

‘In Bed with the Tudors’ sounds great – I also found a (completely unrelated) novel called ‘In Bed with Lord Byron’ by Deborah Wright, where a woman goes back in time and encounters some of history’s greatest lovers, like Byron and Casanova. I’ve added both to my library list. 🙂

My day 3 updates are on my read-a-thon post here:

  2. Bummer…have not been doing hardly any reading. The move ended up taking us all weekend and all day Monday. Ugh! Was exhausted…well, still am and now have all this stuff to organize so my boys can have some semblance of Christmas. Plus, my mom is a drill sergeant, which is probably a good thing. Otherwise, I would be procrastinating. I’ve been sneaking in some reading when she’s not looking. LOL! Just haven’t had time to update on my blog. Oh, I’m reading Merry Ex-Mas by Sheila Roberts and The Hobbit. 🙂
