Book Drunkard

“I am simply a 'book drunkard.' Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.” L.M. Montgomery

Impromptu Readathon

So, my husband just left to go camping for the weekend, and my oldest daughter is gone with friends until Sunday!  That leaves just my youngest and I – and what did we decide to do?  Why, a readathon, naturally!  I’ve been watching a LOT of hockey lately (Go Canucks!) and am behind with my reading, so I’m taking advantage of the quiet(er) house.  Part of the time we will be reading separate books, but sometimes we will be reading a book aloud to each other!

I’d love for some other parents and children to join along with us!  Share with B and I about the books you’re reading, how many you finish, etc.  Or just check back tomorrow and hear about our progress – complete with pictures!  If you decide to do a readathon, it doesn’t matter what time you start, when you end, how many hours you read or how many books you finish.  It’s about the time you spend with your child/children.  It’s going to be great 🙂

  1. My daughter and I are reading Who am I Without Him by Sharon Flake. A collection of short stories for girls and boys, aimed towards girls that deals with issues and themes that young girls face in today’s society. Very sad at times, funny and thought provoking.
