Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. (Library books don’t count, but eBooks & audiobooks do). Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists!
This month, Mailbox Monday is hosted by Rose City Reader.
It’s been much too long since I did Mailbox Monday. I have probably acquired well over a hundred books since then. Today, I’m going to share some of my favourites with you.
Just before Christmas, I won 3 books from Passages to the Past – A collection of books by India Edghill. Each was signed by the author. I love them.
The next batch of books are ones I purchased myself. I adore Jean Plaidy and Abebooks has pretty much all of them available. They are older versions of her books, which I understand are now being reprinted into lovely, glossy editions (drool), but I’ll keep going with my ‘old’ collection. I received The Reluctant Queen, Uneasy Lies the Head, Victoria Victorious, Myself, my Enemy and Road to Compiegne. Can’t wait to sink my teeth in….
So, last week I received some beauties. How I’ll ever choose which one to read first, I have no clue.
From Julie from Graf-Martin, I received The Damascus Way by Davis Bunn and Janette Oke. It’s the third book in a series. It looks really interesting and I love reading books set during this time.
I LOVE Kate Emerson’s books. I was thrilled to receive this one – and it’s an autographed copy! I wasn’t expecting that so it was an extra treat. I will be reviewing this one soon and Kate will be joining my blog with a guest post as well. So, stayed tuned because you won’t want to miss it!!
This book came just on Friday. I’ve been wanting to read it for ages now. I will be reviewing it, too – and also Lynn Cullen’s new book when it comes out in August of this year. She said it’s a “prequel, of sorts” to The Creation of Eve. I’m excited to read it.
Last, but not least, is a book by an author who doesn’t write anything historical(that I know of) and yet she has found a spot on my ‘faves’ list. Staying at Daisy’s by Jill Mansell will be published in March and you will be able to read my review then. BritChickLit at it’s best!
