Friday Finds is a weekly book meme hosted by Should Be Reading. It’s a fun way to share books that you’ve recently discovered.
I discovered this book just this morning while enjoying my coffee in my new Eiffel Tower mug. It was the cover that first caught my eye – it’s beautiful. At first I thought it was a novel, but as I read further, I realized it’s actually a joint biography of five royal consorts who all happened to be cousins and the granddaughters of Queen Victoria.
Since it looked really interesting and is historical, which I love, I checked to see what else the author has written and came across another lovely gem.
Another gorgeous cover. (I try hard not to judge a book by it’s cover, but when they are pretty like this one, it’s hard not to! lol) In Triumph’s Wake tells the stories of three royal pairings, all mothers and daughters. They are Isabella of Castile and Catherine of Aragon, Maria Theresa and Marie Antoinette, and Queen Victoria and Empress Frederick.
How is it possible that there is a book about three of my favourite people!? Must.Have.Now.
