Book Drunkard

“I am simply a 'book drunkard.' Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.” L.M. Montgomery

Library Sale

This morning I had the pleasure of going to my first library sale.  The Kelowna branch of the Okanagan Regional Library was having their Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale!  Since I was a library sale virgin, I wasn’t sure what to expect.  But, when I walked inside the doors it was Heaven!

Here are the treasures I brought home with me today (Sorry for the bad pictures!):

Five books by Georgette Heyer. I recently heard about this author for the first time and have read a couple of her books already.  If you like Victorian era books, you’ll love her, too!  She also writes some mystery.  The books are in really lovely shape for their age and no library stickers on them either!

I was also lucky enough to find four books byLynn Austen.  She writes inspirational books – or what some might call Christian fiction.  Thanks to my friend, Jessica, for turning me onto this author!  That’s the best thing so far about book blogging.  I’ve had so many great recommendations.

Of course, being me, I had to get some yummy historical fiction.  This pile makes me sort of giddy, I’m not gonna lie!!  I’m a total history nerd and I’m not ashamed to admit it. lol  I’ve never read any of these authors before so I’m really excited to read them.

My last two books are by an author who I love and a book I’ve heard a lot about in the blogging world but haven’t read yet.

I have sooo many months of lovely reading material now.  And, the best part, each book was only $1.00!  Giggety!  I’m so glad I took a bag with me today and came away with another bag that I bought – a cute canvas bag with ‘Kelowna Friends of the Library’ on the front.

  1. What wonderful finds for you! I am envious, our Library never has sales. I adore Georgette Heyer, Bronte, Givens, Binchy and I cannot recall how many copies of The Secret Life of Bees I gave as gifts the year I read it. I have not read anything by Lynn Austen, but considering we appear to have similar taste in books, I will be adding her to my list.
    Again, congratulations, you chose well.

  2. I LOVE library sales! Went to one last year where the adult books were fifty cents and the YA only a quarter each!! Left with 2 boxes full. Lol Looks like you got a good haul.

  3. Aren’t library sales the best? Looks like you came away with some great loot! I loved The Secret Life of Bees and hope you like it too 🙂
