Book Drunkard

“I am simply a 'book drunkard.' Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.” L.M. Montgomery

Oscars 2010

So, something a bit different today.  Since I absolutely love the Oscars and adore fashion, I’m going to share my top eight gowns of the night!  Enjoy and share your thoughts on my picks!

Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab Haute Couture. It’s not the most glamorous dress, but it’s different.  Her make-up and hair are the  perfect fit.

Mariska Hargitay in Vera Wang. I didn’t see her at the actual ceremony or on the red carpet, but I’m glad I came across her picture.  The gown is gorgeous.

Queen Latifah in Badgley Mischka. She looked incredible!  What a lovely colour against her gorgeous skin.

Vera Farmiga in Marchesa. Most fashion critics put her in the worst dressed category.  I think the dress is beautiful – especially the colour!

Sandra Bullock and her metallic Marchesa gown.  The fit is completely divine.  And her vintage Tiffany earrings  (a gift from her husband) are beautiful.

Anna Kendrick was completely lovely in her soft pink Elie Saab gown.  Her make-up was simple and I love the softness of her hair.  And I love her shoes!

Demi Moore in Atelier Versace.  The blush colour was perfect next to her skin and I loved her hair done to the side.  Her body is perfection.

Elizabeth Banks in Versace. The dress is somewhere between gray and lilac and she really stood out.  The detailing on the front was so flattering, not that she doesn’t have a beautiful figure already.  I loved her Cinderella style hair and the pretty headband.  And again, I love the shoes!

Hilary Swank didn’t get an invite to the Oscar ceremony this year, but that didn’t stop her from looking fabulous!!  She looks so hot in Armani Privé at the Vanity Fair party.  God, I wish I had that figure!  And her hair is really cute.

So, those are my picks.  What were your faves?

By the way, I got all the pictures from this SITE.

  1. I’m so glad that you posted this. I didn’t watch the show last night, but looking at the dresses are my favorite part! I definitely agree with your #1 and #2, though I might have switched them around!

  2. I love Sandra Bullock’s dress. She looked like an oscar winner right from the get-go. Plus I loved her comments on the red carpet about looking forward to eating again once the show was over!

  3. She still raked in a $15 million paycheck regardless of the Razzie award. So, what’s the point? Most struggling actors would gladly accept a Razzie award if a huge million dollar paycheck is attached to it.
