Book Drunkard

“I am simply a 'book drunkard.' Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.” L.M. Montgomery

  1. I got a two book category done! Starts with A (The Art of Mending) and starts with Z (Z for Zachariah) That give me 20 more points for a 65 total.

    Have a great week

  2. I had a 50 point week this week!!

    15 points:
Civil War theme – The Red Badge of Courage – Stephen Crane

    15 points:
    Biography/autobiography – Mockingbird: A Portrait of Harper Lee – Charles J. Shields

    20 points:
Wintery theme – The Christmas Train – David Baldacci

  3. Today I posted about a poem with a very wintery theme–the cremation of Sam McGee. Don’t know if a poem counts though.

  4. Hiya. I think I got everyone updated. Let me know if your total is wrong!

    PS…I don’t think poems count – unless it’s over 100 pages or something :p

PS #2…Just so we are clear, you don’t have to do a review to get the points for a book. Unless it’s for the one 20 point challenge.

  5. I forgot to mention…I finished The Great Gatsby a couple days ago – for read a book from Modern Library Top 100. I had read it before but forgot so much of it. 20 more points makes the total 70 now!

  6. This week I read A Touch of Dead by Charlaine Harris, who was born November 15th, which gets me 15 points, and I listened to A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole, which received the Pulitzer Prize in 1981, for 20 points–bringing me tooo 90 points. The only sad part is I’ve used up my two audio book allowances!

  7. You are all doing so great! I feel like I’m slacking 😀

  8. Read a biography/autobiography – Anne Frank: Her Life in Words and Pictures -15 points

Read a book that begins with A- I’ve done the first half of this challenge with An Alphabetical Life, so that’s 10 points. Reading the Z book soon 🙂

  9. Is it too late to be a part of this challenge? I love this, as it is getting me out of my comfort zone of reading (historical fiction, usually). I have a blog that I recently started and here are the books that I have read so far. Please let me know if this is all right?!?

  10. Read a book by Georgette Heyer*Arabella (11/6 10 pts)
    about a queen or king *Queen’s Mistake(11/12 5 pts)
    Write a review*My Unfair Lady*(11/16 20 pts)
A proper name in the title*The Fall of Anne Boleyn(12/8 5 pts)
    40 total

  11. I completed 20 points this week for book that begins with A (the Accidental Demon Slayer) and book begining with Z (the Zombie Survival Guide). That makes a total of 90.
