Book Drunkard

“I am simply a 'book drunkard.' Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.” L.M. Montgomery

Teaser Tuesday

Virginie Says…

My teaser today comes from The Sixth Wife by Suzannah Dunn.  I’m almost  finished and will post a review soon!

sixthwifedunn“Kate was dressed, but lying on her bed.  Queen of this house.  Beside her bed were those who could have been said to be her jesters: Elizabeth, Thomas and Mrs. Ashley.  No sign of Jane Grey.  Elizabeth was sitting on a chair; Thomas was positioned behind her, plaiting her hair under Mrs. Ashley’s supervision and making a spectacle of his incompetence, feigning helplessness.  Mrs. Ashley was responding heartily to his little show: laughing, flushed, fingertips to her breastbone.”  The Sixth Wife by Suzannah Dunn, page 100.

TEASER TUESDAYS is hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.   To add your own teaser, just do the following:

– Grab whatever book you’re reading at the moment.
– Open up your book to a random page.
– Share two (2) teaser sentences.
– Make sure you share the title of the book, the author and any other relevant information so others will know which book you’re talking about – in case they want to read the book, too!
– No spoilers, please!

Check out other teasers around the blogs.

  1. I love love love books and shows about lives of Queens. Just like reading about the lives of the filthy rich, it’s something I’ll never know. And it’s normally soooo glamorous! Can’t wait to see your review! Great tease!

  2. Interesting teaser. I’ll be looking forward to your review.
