Book Drunkard

“I am simply a 'book drunkard.' Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.” L.M. Montgomery

Virginie Says…

I found two books this week that are definite reads for me.  They are by the same author and are as follows:

A place of Greater Safety by Hilary Mantle

This book is set during the French Revolution (a time of great interest for me) and has three main characters: Georges-Jacques Danton, Maximilien Robespierre, and Camille Desmoulins.  This one is going right on top of my wish list.

This second book has yet to be released (June 25, 2009).  Think England, 1520’s and Henry VIII.  Cardinal Wolsey has just been destroyed and who steps in?  None other than Thomas Cromwell.  I can’t wait to read this one.

    Here is my find

  2. Both books sound great — have a nice weekend.

  3. I’m really eager to read both books. They will be atop my wish list – for this week, anyhow 😀
